Herman Schultz, better known as the Shocker, is a recurring Spider-Man villain in Marvel Comics. He's a career criminal who relies on technology rather than superpowers.

Schultz was initially a safecracker who, while imprisoned, designed vibro-shock gauntlets to break through walls. He then created a padded costume to protect himself from the gauntlets' vibrations.

Upon escaping prison, Schultz adopted the moniker "The Shocker" and used his gauntlets for robbery, frequently clashing with Spider-Man. His shock waves can pulverize concrete and send opponents flying.

While not intellectually brilliant, the Shocker is a competent engineer and a persistent threat. He often works alongside other supervillains, typically driven by financial gain. He's frequently portrayed as a mid-tier villain, more dangerous due to his technology than any innate abilities.
